Everything that was great about the 2025 iteration returns, along with several refinements. The 2027 Volkswagen ID. Buzz continues to be the ultimate retro-inspired EV. While the overall exterior and interior style remain mostly unchanged, there are several noteworthy updates. First for the VW ID. Buzz: New color options refresh the lineup, all of which are two tone.
Our favorite of these two-tone paint jobs is the Candy White over Cherry Red color scheme; this option is a perfect throwback to the original Microbus, blending retro style with modern design. Speaking of “modern,” the 2027 Volkswagen ID. Buzz will also gain optional 21-inch wheels for a bolder look.
Like the colors, and in line with the full 2027 VW lineup, the 2027 Volkswagen ID. Buzz trims are revised to offer a more streamlined experience. These 2027 trim levels are as follows:
The Pro S RWD and Pro S Plus 4MOTION are returning options from the 2025 model year; the Tourer 4MOTION trim is the most exciting of the new 2027 Volkswagen ID. Buzz trim levels, acting as a camper with a fold-out mattress and many other touches that make camping more fun and convenient. The Pro S 4MOTION is a straightforward option, adding 4MOTION AWD to the Pro S RWD model.

Inside the 2027 VW ID. Buzz, a family-focused design with three-row seating continues to define the cabin. Favorite features from the previous model – such as a Wi-Fi hotspot, an electrochromic smart roof, VW Travel Assist, and a 12.9-inch touchscreen – return, joined by several exciting updates.
The steering wheel, for example, now gains new buttons designed with improved tactile feedback in mind, while the touchscreen boasts a refined navigation home screen and vehicle settings page. However, the most notable addition to our new VW inventory is the 2027 VW ID. Buzz Tourer trim: aside from the aforementioned fold-out mattress, this trim adds new car-camping features such as a stowable exterior table, front-window ventilation panels, window blinds, and an Overnight Mode to manage power overnight.

The 2027 Volkswagen ID. Buzz is expected to arrive at dealerships in the United States in August of 2026 or in the early months of 2027. This comes after a year-long hiatus, which allowed VW engineers to focus on enhancing the ID. Buzz in as many meaningful ways as possible, such as the new camper-inspired Tourer 4MOTION trim.
The 2027 VW ID. Buzz maintains the dimensions of the 2025 model, measuring 195.4 inches long, 78.1 inches wide (not counting the mirrors), and 76.2 inches tall. This retro-inspired EV is a three-row throwback to the classic VW Microbus, offering seating for up to seven people and up to 145.5 cubic feet of cargo room.
The VW ID. Buzz is a three-row vehicle with a seating capacity of either six or seven, depending on its configuration. Models with a second-row bench seat can fit seven people, while configurations with second-row captain’s chairs seat six. A total passenger volume of 160.1 cubic feet means that all occupants will have plenty of space.
