VW Atlas 2025 vs. 2024: Difference in Design

VW Atlas 2025 vs. 2024: Difference in Design

The 2024 model year ushered in a large VW Atlas redesign for this three-row SUV. As a result, the differences between it and the 2025 version are subtler. For the 2024 Atlas, Avocado Green and Pure Grey were only available on the Peak Edition trims. This year, they are more prominently featured across the lineup. Mountain Lake Blue also joins your list of potential paint colors.

Otherwise, you will be greeted by the same wide chrome four-bar grille and 900D-lumen LED headlights as last year, with the Peak Edition offering a unique front fascia with X-shaped styling and two chrome strips over the otherwise black grille. A large panoramic sunroof will add to the natural ambiance of some of this SUV's trims as well.

VW Atlas 2025 vs. 2024 Trims

For both the 2024 and 2025 model years, this SUV's trim lineups start the same. The entry-level SE tier comes with the following:

  • IQ.DRIVE
  • Leatherette upholstery
  • Heated and ventilated front seats
  • Three-zone climate control
  • 12-inch center display

However, the driver's seat is now 10-way instead of eight-way adjustable, as it was for 2024, and there is an upgraded wireless charging system. Light Assist is also newly standard.

Here's the full trim menu for 2025:

  • Atlas SE
  • Atlas SE with Technology
  • Atlas Peak Edition
  • Atlas SEL
  • Atlas SEL Premium R-Line

This is very similar, but not identical, to the 2024 lineup, which featured two Peak Editions: Peak Edition SE with Technology and Peak Edition SEL.

You'll also find that the SEL Premium R-Line trim of the 2025 VW Atlas for sale gained a few features, including massage functionality for the front seats, four-way front-seat lumbar support, and headrest perforation on all seats.

The new-for-2024 powertrains also carry over to the 2025 model year, as do many of the other specs. You'll be thrilled by this crossover's turbocharged performance. It's driven by a 269-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, plus an eight-speed automatic transmission and your choice of FWD or 4MOTION AWD. Both drivetrains offer you Eco, Comfort, Sport, Custom, and Snow Driving Modes to help you adapt to different situations, while 4MOTION AWD adds an Off-Road Mode to the list for your adventures in the Great Outdoors.

Armed with these impressive features, drivers can tow up to 5,000 pounds when their SUV is properly equipped.

While a VW Atlas hybrid variant has yet to come onto the market, Volkswagen automakers have designed several all-electric models for you to explore, and we are looking forward to what the future holds for this brand in terms of more electrification.

As we've previously hinted at, you'll also be comforted by this Volkswagen – three-row seating with spacious dimensions greets you as you climb inside. The cabin holds 154 cubic feet of passenger volume, with particularly notable legroom in this crossover's third row. While many three-row SUVs offer under 30 inches in the rear seats, this vehicle provides 33.7 inches in either model year.

Just like last year, you'll retain 20.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats with the option to fold this row down to make 55.5 cubic feet of storage space. You can fold the second row down, too, for 96.6 cubic feet.
