Meet the All-New 2027 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport

August 11th, 2026 by

Volkswagen is giving one of its most popular SUVs a bold new look. The all-new 2027 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport combines sporty, coupe-inspired styling with a premium interior, upgraded technology, and even more confidence-inspiring features.

Designed for drivers who want the versatility of an SUV without sacrificing style, the Atlas Cross Sport is slightly shorter and lower than the three-row Atlas, giving it a more athletic stance while still offering plenty of passenger and cargo space.

A Bold New Look

The 2027 Atlas Cross Sport features completely redesigned exterior styling, including double-stacked LED headlights, available illuminated VW badging, dynamic lighting, and a sleek coupe-like rear profile. New wheel designs and three new exterior colors—including Dark Sage Metallic, Blackberry Metallic, and Sandstone—add even more personality.

Inside, the cabin gets an upscale makeover with soft-touch materials, stylish wood accents, contrast stitching, ambient lighting, and three available interior color combinations. Upper trims offer premium Varenna or Nappa leather, while enhanced seating provides improved comfort and available massage functionality.

Technology That Keeps You Connected

The new Atlas Cross Sport brings plenty of intuitive technology to the road. A 12.9-inch infotainment screen is standard, while most models receive an impressive 15-inch display. Every model also includes a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro.

New available features include upgraded wireless charging with Qi2 technology, multiple USB-C ports, premium Harman Kardon audio, and expanded myVW+ connected services with features such as premium navigation, AI-enhanced voice assistance, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and more.

More Power, More Confidence

Under the hood, the 2027 Atlas Cross Sport gets its most powerful engine yet. Its updated 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 282 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Front-wheel drive comes standard, while 4MOTION all-wheel drive is available across the lineup. The Atlas Cross Sport also maintains an impressive 5,000-pound towing capacity when properly equipped.

Volkswagen has also enhanced its IQ.DRIVE® suite of driver assistance features, with updates to Travel Assist, Emergency Assist Plus, Park Assist Plus, and Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control.

Coming in 2027

The all-new 2027 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is expected to arrive in early 2027, with pricing and additional specifications to be announced closer to launch.

With its sporty new design, premium interior, advanced technology, and increased power, the latest Atlas Cross Sport is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the Volkswagen SUV lineup.
